Esteban Barrenechea

General Managing Partner

Esteban Barrenechea has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the School of Engineering at the University of Navarra and EFA, European Financial Advisor, from UNED. 

He started his professional career in 1990 as a management consultant at ANDERSEN CONSULTING (now ACCENTURE), involved in merger projects and the restructuring and optimisation of various business areas in industrial firms. He then joined the iron and steel company ADA - Aciérie de l'Atlantique (France), where he was responsible for the Commercial Management, Planning and Logistics of the company during its first three years in operation.

In 1998, he was appointed CEO of IKEI, where he has developed, as an external advisor, numerous strategic planning and business optimization processes, brokering in corporate finance and corporate development operations (feasibility plans and refinancing, IBRs, corporate restructuring, acquisition and sale of companies, MBOs, internationalization processes and financing of investments abroad, business merger and integration operations,...) for companies in various industrial and service sectors. He has also collaborated as an external advisor on the boards of directors of various companies, drawing on his knowledge and experience in corporate and strategic matters.

He is a member of the ICA (Instituto de Consejeros y Administradores), the SPS (Strategic Planning Society, UK), and the SMS (Strategic Management Society, USA). 

He has over 25 years of proven experience in strategic and corporate consulting.

He is currently the Chairman and General Managing Partner of IKEI.
