Esteban Barrenechea

General Managing Partner

Esteban Barrenechea has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the School of Engineering at the University of Navarra and EFA, European Financial Advisor, from UNED. 

He started his professional career in 1990 as a management consultant at ANDERSEN CONSULTING (now ACCENTURE), involved in merger projects and the restructuring and optimisation of various business areas in industrial firms. 

He then joined the iron and steel company ADA_Aciérie de l’Atlantique (France), where he was responsible for the Commercial Management, Planning and Logistics of the company during its first three years in operation.

In 1998 he joined IKEI as Managing Director, where –as an External Advisor– he has carried out numerous strategic planning and business optimisation processes, acting as an intermediary in M&A and corporate finance operations and participating in the Boards of Directors and Steering Committees of various companies from different sectors, advising them on corporate and strategic matters.

He is a member of various international associations, including, SPS - Strategic Planning Society (UK) and SMS - Strategic Management Society (USA). He has over 20 years of proven experience in strategic and corporate consulting.

He is currently the Chairman and General Managing Partner of IKEI.
