Francisco Javier Vélez has a Law Degree with a law & economics specialisation, from Deusto University (Bilbao campus).

He started his professional activity in Arthur Andersen, where he worked for 8 years in the audit and consultancy area, before being  promoted to be a Manager, in command of the office of the firm in Vitoria.

He then served as deputy to the presidency of the Guascor Group as a member of the board of Directors, and President of various companies of the group, and he developed various activities as a self-employed entrepreneur and advisor for Boards in Spain Argentina and Italy, most remarkably in its role within the Construction, promotion and parking management Group BIKANI, as well as in the argentinian oil company Destilería Argentina de Petroleo SA (DAPSA) and Italian company FinSo Energy SRL.

After this, he was Director General of Venture Capital of the Basque Country and Deputy General Director of the SPRI (Basque agency for industrial promotion), as such participating in more than 100 operations of M&A and acting as Advisor of numerous companies (SPRI, EKARPEN, Grupo CEGASA, Aguas de Bilbao SA, Mondragón Promoción SPE,...).

Finally, he worked for the AERNNOVA Group as its Vicepresident for M&A and Capital Markets, which for a period he combined with his membership in various strategy and management boards.
