Unai San Miguel has a degree in Law, majoring in Economics, from the University of Deusto, an MBA from the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies (ESTE) - University of Deusto and a Masters Degree in European Business from the EDHEC Business School (Lille, France).
He began his professional career as an export salesperson in an industrial company in Navarra in 2001. However, the following year, a grant from the ICEX (Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness) gave him the chance to pack his bags and head to the headquarters of the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) in Caracas (Venezuela) where, for two years, he worked on the design, coordination, management and monitoring of projects carried out with money from the Spanish Consulting Fund in countries from the Andean region.
His passion for consulting and Latin America led to him joining IKEI as a consultant in 2005, focusing his activity on developing business projects financed by multilateral organisations in Latin America (European Union, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, Development Bank of Latin America etc.), and to date he has completed projects in over 15 countries on the American continent, for the development of the public and private sectors. He has 12 years of proven experience in the fields of business competitiveness and regional development.
He is currently a Partner of IKEI.
